Wu - Tang Duo
Join Detroit Symphony Assistant Concertmaster Hai-xin Wu and internationally known concert artist Zhihua Tang for an evening of some of the most beloved works for violin and piano, from the richly romantic Brahams Sonata in G Major to the firey virtuosity of Pablo de Sarasate's Carmen Fantasy. For Spanish composer Joaquin Turina's passioinate Trio in B minor the duo will be joined by cellist Carl Donakowski.

Enjoy a sonic feast as the evening sun gently illuminates the stained glass windows treasured by the century-old village of Isadore.
Medieval chant, classics by Mozart, Bach, and Vittoria, a rollicking Black Spiritual and Karl Jenkins’ contemporary Mass for Peace, a bit of folk music plusa specially-commissioned setting of a Polish carol recalling the heritage of the village of Isadore, all performed in historic Holy Rosary Church featuring its restored Hinners-Wigton pipe organ and glorious acoustics.

Performing a unique mix of Brazilian music from different regions and eras, the band specializes in choro, a style that began in Rio de Janeiro more than a century ago and features intricate melodies and counterpoint, swinging rhythms, and rich harmonies. The band also brings great energy to Brazilian popular samba, bossa nova, and forro.
